JEM Process + Isabel Marant = La Montre (2012)
In 2012, Isabel Marant and JEM joined forces to create the first 18 carat ethical gold watch. A watch that seems to turn back time, evoking childhood memories and a father’s watch. “A hand on my hand. My father’s hand. A hand marked by time, splendid as childhood memories are. A slim wrist, circled by a gold watch that has stuck in my memory as an extension of him.” Isabel Marant.
Ronda Swiss Parts + Isabel Marant = La Montre II (2014)
In 2014, two years after her fair-trade gold watch, Isabel Marant created a new variation in black and white, in collaboration with the Swiss group Ronda. Steel lines embrace a black enamel face, fastened with a leather bracelet. “A timeless object, a sign of natural elegance, with no pretensions and no unnecessary glitz. The right balance, perfect proportions, the encounter between tradition and modernity.” Isabel Marant.
